In the framework of the official meeting between Almaz Khakimov, Minister of Economic Development and Industry of Penza Region, and Mrs. Nevin Gamea, Minister of Industry and Trade of Egypt, and Mr. Yahya Elwasik, Head of Egyptian Commercial Mission, issues concerning development of trade and economic cooperation between Penza Region and the Arab Republic of Egypt were discussed.
Minister of Industry and Trade of Egypt Nevin Gamea declared the intention of the country to maintain economic relations with Russia despite of modern challenges and expressed interest in cooperation in the sphere of industry, tourism and education.
The sides agreed to step up cooperation in priority areas, including in the field of import substitution, to organise business contacts with presentations by the sides, as well as to set up counter visits for interested businessmen.
The sides also discussed prospects for expanding and increasing trade turnover between the regions and localising joint ventures.
Last year, the exports of Penza enterprises to Egypt was more than $15.8 million. The exports are mainly products of heavy machinery, as well as wood processing industry products.
Minister of Economic Development and Industry of Penza Region Almaz Khakimov expressed confidence in continuation of efficient work of the sides in developing trade and economic relations.
